Walled Garden

A venue offering a breadth of scope and opportunity

Dating back to the mid-1700s, Wormsley’s original Walled Garden was created by Richard Woods, a contemporary of Capability Brown.

Having been somewhat neglected for the best part of a century, the gardens were reinvigorated. Re-imaging the space into four garden rooms, each with a different purpose, The Walled Garden was redesigned with sections for flower and vegetable gardens, producing wonderful floral displays for cricket, the opera, and the main house, as well as fruit and produce for the wider estate.

Gardens

The Gardens are split into four flower and vegetable garden rooms, each with a different purpose.

Central Avenues

The central avenues of the garden provide an ideal location for hosting banquets or formal dinners with a difference, whilst our Summer House offers a charming secluded setting for a small family event or wedding party.

Green Theatre

The Green Theatre, with its raised grass stage and Yew footlights, hosts a select number of summer events ranging from drinks receptions and garden parties to musical performances and recitals.

Croquet Lawn

Diagonally opposite the Green Theatre is the beautifully manicured Croquet Lawn, an ideal location for open-air dinners, parties and a multitude of celebrations with scope for structures or marquees.
