Accessibility and Inclusion Statement

  1. Our Commitment

Wormsley Estate Limited (collectively, “Wormsley”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) are committed to ensuring that our 2,700-acre estate is welcoming and accessible to all corporate delegates, visitors, and contractors.

We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy the unique environment of Wormsley safely and comfortably. We continuously review our practices to support inclusion and ensure compliance with the Equality Act 2010.

  1. Navigating our Historic Venues

Wormsley is a historic, country estate featuring diverse landscapes and traditional architecture, including our Library, Walled Garden, and cricket grounds.

Due to the historic nature and varied terrain of our 2,700-acre private estate, accessibility can vary between different locations. We strongly encourage event organisers to conduct a site visit prior to their event to assess the specific locations being hired and to discuss any specific access routes with our events team.

  1. The Dry-Hire Model and Shared Responsibility

Because Wormsley operates primarily on a “dry-hire” basis for private events and weddings, accessibility is a shared responsibility between Wormsley and the hirer.

  • Temporary Structures: Corporate clients and their appointed third-party production companies are responsible for ensuring that any temporary structures brought onto the estate (such as marquees, staging, or temporary seating) meet necessary accessibility standards, including the provision of ramps where required.
  • Delegate Requirements: Event organisers are responsible for communicating with their attendees prior to the event to identify any specific accessibility, mobility, or sensory requirements.
  • Reasonable Adjustments: Event planners must work collaboratively with Wormsley during the planning stages to implement reasonable adjustments, ensuring all delegates can participate fully in the event.
  1. Pre-Arrival and Access Control

As a secure, private estate, we operate a strict event guest logging system.

  • If attendees or contractors require specific parking arrangements (such as close-proximity access to the event location due to mobility impairments), the corporate client must highlight this on the finalised guest list in advance.
  • This ensures our staff can facilitate smooth, dignified, and direct access for those individuals upon arrival.
  1. Data Privacy

Any sensitive personal data (special category data) collected by event organisers regarding a delegate’s health or accessibility requirements must be handled securely. As outlined in our Privacy Policy, Wormsley will only process this highly sensitive information strictly on the basis of explicit consent or to protect vital interests in an emergency, and it will solely be used to facilitate safe access during the event.
