The Garsington Opera Pavilion

Designed by Robin Snell

The multi-award-winning, 600-seat Garsington Opera Pavilion was designed by architect Robin Snell and was completed in May 2011. It is conceived in the English tradition of a pavilion in the landscape, with the building elevated so that appears to float over the ground, whilst at the same time offering uninterrupted views across the Lake, Deer Park and woodland beyond.

Stunning performance venue

Home to Garsington Opera during the May-July opera season, the pavilion provides a stunning space for all manner of performances. These include concerts, film events, musical performances, ballet, theatre, comedy shows, corporate presentations, company away-days, panel discussions, award ceremonies and product launches.

Features

The stage stretches to over 100 sq m and has ground-level access backstage for easy movement of sets, equipment and displays. In addition to the 600-seat auditorium, there are 5 private boxes, each seating 8 people. There is the opportunity for private dining on the Upper Terrace and guests can enjoy a pre-or post-event drink at the bar on the Lower Terrace whilst enjoying artworks displayed in the New Gallery.
