Its Wedding Licence for a congregation of up to 15 people makes it one of the most exclusive places in the country in which to be married.

Walled Garden
Originally designed in the 18th Century, the Walled Garden is situated in the most sheltered spot on the Estate. In 1985 Penelope Hobhouse together with Simon Johnson were commissioned to rebuild the garden, designing it into quadrants separated in true Chiltern style, by knapped-flint paths and brick with buttressed Yew hedges.
Over the years, it has been meticulously restored and maintained whilst remaining true to the original brief and is a stunning backdrop for any event.
Central Avenues
The Walled Garden is a charmingly unique space in a stunning setting. It is divided by two floral-lined avenues to create four glorious garden rooms: the Green Theatre, Croquet Lawn, Flower Garden, and a Kitchen Garden designated for organically grown fresh fruit and vegetables.
Theatre Garden
The Green Theatre, with its raised grass stage and Yew footlights, hosts a select number of summer events ranging from drinks receptions and garden parties to musical performances and recitals.
Croquet Lawn
Diagonally opposite the Green Theatre is the beautifully manicured Croquet Lawn, an ideal location for open-air dinners, parties and a multitude of celebrations with scope for structures or marquees.
Orchard
Straight through the garden entrance is the beautiful Orchard, a glorious outdoor space lending well to summer soirées to suit any occasion.
More to Explore
This two-acre space is a tranquil escape cherished for its heritage and natural beauty. Wherever one may wander, hidden treasures can be found, from the rose garden to little secret gardens, statues and a shaded thatched summer house.
Overlooked by the Walled Garden and Orchard, The Vista is positioned in the most picturesque setting.
Whatever the event or celebration, the Walled Garden will only serve to bring wonder and delight to any privileged guests.
Barns Lawn
Located just outside the Walled Garden, Barns Lawn is an ideal space for larger events and celebrations. It can accommodate a marquee for 500 seated dining or 300 with a dancefloor, stage, and bar areas. The lawns are encompassed by mature trees and three characterful restored Chiltern Barns.

The Boundary Room
The Boundary Room
A Hospitality Venue
The Boundary Room hospitality suite sits proudly alongside the Cricket Pavilion, overlooking the Cricket Ground, on a raised setting. Its glass front, with fully retractable doors, gives a wonderfully unimpeded view from the Cricket Ground to the valley and woods beyond. The Boundary Room provides hospitality from its on-site kitchen for 300 covers.
Stunning Views
Designed by Architect Robin Snell, The Boundary Room overlooks the beautifully manicured Wormsley Cricket Ground, described by many as the most beautiful in the world. Stunningly situated, as if embodied in a Turner landscape, it is perfectly positioned for any event.
A Hugely Versatile Space
An event space not just for cricket, it is ideal for entertaining guests during spring, summer and early autumn, often hosting celebrity gala dinners and charity functions, as well as weddings and celebrations. Aside stands the thatched Tudor-style Cricket Pavilion, a uniquely intimate setting for private dining, drinks receptions, and board and company meetings.
The Cricket Pavilion
The Cricket Pavilion
A Distinctive Facade
The mock-Tudor thatched pavilion, designed by architect Nicky Johnston, features a distinctive facade, players’ balconies and cricket bat balusters. It was officially opened on Sunday 3rd May 1992 for the first game on the new ground between two local villages that border the Estate – Ibstone CC v Fingest CC.
Decorated in History
Over the last 30 years, many of the world’s greatest players have had the opportunity to be invited to enjoy Wormsley, with those who have scored 100 runs or taken five wickets for the Sir Paul Getty XI commemorated on painted plaques on the walls of the pavilion. Housing a fantastic collection of cricketing memorabilia, including scorecards of previous Sir Paul Getty XI matches, The Cricket Pavilion showcases photographs of some of the world stars who have played at Wormsley, signed cricket bats, WG Grace’s Umbrella Stand, the oldest bat ever found in the UK (dating back to 1602) and one of Sir Don Bradman’s bats used on his last tour of England.
Additional dining opportunities
Aside from cricket, the Pavilion also hosts private dining for 12 people and has a Wedding Licence with room for a small congregation of 15 people. A cricket enthusiast’s dream, perhaps?
The Cricket Ground
The Cricket Ground
An Iconic Ground
The Wormsley Cricket Ground is known to be one of the most beautiful in the world. Based on the ‘Oval’ Cricket Ground in size, its first-class amenities include a thatched Cricket Pavilion for members, practice nets and new umpire facilities.
A Beautiful Setting
The Cricket Ground lends itself superbly to creative concepts with the most beautiful backdrop. From charity cricket matches to star-studded performances, its secluded positioning provides events with privacy and a unique edge.
Quintessentially British
Car clubs and film crews have used private roads throughout the Estate and around the Cricket Ground, often used as a hub for drinks receptions, team building activities or Green Rooms; the Wormsley Cricket Ground is the most quintessentially British celebratory venue.
Home Farm Barn
Home Farm Barn
With its rustic charm, Home Farm Barn combines the old-world character of a traditional barn with the cosiness of a welcoming home. Inside, exposed wooden beams stretch across the vaulted ceiling, whilst soft lighting creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. Large windows welcome in natural light, looking out over the lake to Island Pavilion, Deer Park, Opera Pavilion and the undulating tree-scaped countryside beyond.
Views and a peaceful atmosphere can be enjoyed from Home Farm Lawn, accessible via the portico doors.
Home Farm Barn
Home Farm Barn is an ideal location for private dinners, corporate lunches, or team meetings. Two entrances from the courtyard and lawn make access easy, enabling flexibility for indoor and outdoor use, combined or individually.
It has a raised stage at one end and a lofted gallery area at the other. It is part of Home Farm, which comprises buildings, spaces, and gardens in the middle of the Estate, overlooking Deer Park and Lake.
Opera Garden
Aside Home Farm sits the Opera Garden, a celebration of horticulture and music culture joined matrimonially with its naturalistic planting gently nestled next to the theatre space, which was originally the Home Farm garden.
For the relocation of Garsington Opera in 2010, Mark Getty briefed Hannah Gardener to create a welcoming home-from-home space for the opera guests and performers, wishing to bring the essence of the Garsington Estate to Wormsley. More free-flowing in its layout by comparison to the formal design of the Garsington Manor gardens, the mixies of roses, Mediterranean lavender, irises, and grasses provide a melodic view of high and low notes exuding an air of sophistication, combining artistry with nature’s splendour.
"The barn looked amazing with all the wonderful touches added ... I could see much thought went into making the barn warm and welcoming for us"
The Island Pavilion
Island Pavilion is a contemporary, light-filled structure that enables guests to dine alongside important art (currently Jeff Koons Cracked Egg). This highly distinctive venue is ideal for those seeking a more scaled-down relaxed wedding ceremony, celebration, or event. It is perfect for small Wedding Breakfasts.
With an integral finishing kitchen and seating space to suit any style, dining is made easy, and drinks on the intimate lawn are highly appealing.
This distinctively simplistic architectural feature is a calm and creative space surrounded by the modern sculptural art on the island accessed via the footbridge over the millpond lake, exuding elegance and serenity.
It is an ideal location for inspiring artistic vision or celebrating with style and finesse.
