Wormsley, world-renowned as one of the most beautiful cricket grounds in the world, played host to a number of cricketing icons on Friday 30 July for a day of food, drink, entertainment, and, most importantly, cricket.
A celebration of the players, the day kicked off with a T20 fixture between our friends from both the Barmy Army and the cricket media.
Following this, on-field entertainment ran alongside net sessions with past and present players and there were opportunities for individuals to get involved with a number of activities on the outfield.
In the afternoon, the day cumulated in a showcase T20 fixture between the PCA England Masters, including the likes of Graeme Swann, Mark Ramprakash, and Jonathan Trott, and an equally star-studded Sir Paul Getty XI.
Money raised from tickets went towards the Professional Cricketers’ Trust in order to support PCA members and their immediate families when they need it most.
The Trust offers life-changing – and often life-saving – support to past and present professional cricketers in their times of need. Since 2015, the players’ charity has supported 426 individuals in the area of mental health alone.
