Wormsley is available this year as a film, TV and photography location. Wormsley made its most recent appearance in Mothering Sunday, released November 2021. Mothering Sunday is a British romantic drama set just after World War I starring Olivia Colman, Colin Firth, Odessa Young and Josh O’Connor. The film was directed by Eva Husson from a screenplay by Alice Birch, based on the novel of the same title by Graham Swift. The filming took place in Dean Wood. Wormsley has also appeared in a recent marvellous major movie (we’re bound to secrecy so can only tease you with this).
Wormsley has provided the backdrop for many big-budget films and a variety of TV productions, including the Big Bomb field in Nanny McPhee and Midsummer Murders, where our famous Cricket Ground took centre stage in Last Man Out and Secrets and Spies. We’ve also had a ‘corpse’ in our garage as well as several in ditches, woodlands and assorted ‘car crash’ sites around the Estate!
Wormsley is an ideal location for filming with its diversity of buildings, historic and contemporary; open spaces; landscapes, and locations. Quiet and unspoiled Wormsley’s private roads are perfect for capturing driving footage and our skyline is clear of obstructions. Our beautiful spaces and hidden places also provide stunning backdrops to showcase high-end brand photography. There are many surprising elements to discover hidden around the estate.
